face hardship and have had experiences
that have led them to becoming homeless.
It’s almost inconceivable to imagine being homeless at this time of the year. We really hope that we can, in a small way, make a difference and ease the situation that they
find themselves in. We hope that the financial donation, donation of food for the Church Drop- in Centre and the rucksacks full of useful items will go to people who are most in need.
It’s unusual for us to have a concert so close to Christmas. We have always been keen not to interfere with school and college commitments in the lead up to Christmas and always plan our concerts early in December to avoid any clashes. Today’s concert takes place after schools and colleges have broken up and we hope it will provide a perfect prelude to the Christmas festivities for singers, their families and other audience members.
It’s a strong set list and one that really does have something for everyone. There is Renaissance music, contemporary music, pop and classical. It’s actually quite liberating to feel that we can work in the space during the day on Saturday and be creative how we perform pieces without worry over balance with the band and sound systems.
We hope that you enjoy the concert and please dig deep to support the charity tonight if you are able to. It should be a really special night and surely there is no better way to start Christmas!
On behalf of everyone at BYC we would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful new year.
