Edinburgh 8th – 15th August 2022 Fringe Festival 2022
We are really excited to be taking part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival again next summer after two highly successful trips there in 2016 and 2018. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the biggest Arts Festival in the world. For three weeks in August, the city of Edinburgh welcomes an explosion of creative energy from around
the globe.
Artists and performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children’s shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events.
There will be around 50,000 separate shows taking place during these 3 weeks and we are thrilled to be involved again.
We have booked to use the famous
Greyfriars Kirk once more, and will stay in accommodation in Musselburgh, just outside Edinburgh. Loretto School provides wonderful accommodation which includes a stunning chapel with a Steinway piano and, crucially, excellent food!
In 2016 we took just Senior Choir to Edinburgh, and in 2018 we took both the Intermediate Choir (called the Development Choir) and the Senior Choir. The impact of this visit on younger children was significant. We recognise that performing on the international stage does so much to galvanise and focus our choirs, and younger members coped with the demands.
