Little Singers has now been going strong for over four years and currently hosts a Toddler Class, Baby Class and Independent Class. During lockdown we were forced to run sessions on Facebook Live which a number of loyal supporters attended. We even got really brave and ran sessions on Zoom. This only worked with the older children but they joined in magnificently, and, although not as good as face to face, the sessions went really well. Being back in person is such a treat though! Excitingly, some of our original members are now members of Children’s Choir. A further 18 have graduated to Junior Choir since Little Singers began so the BYC family is working its magic!
Our Baby Class now accommodates siblings of those who have been attending for a while, so there is a chance that they may already have had the songs in their heads before they even started! Children as young as 6 weeks old have been known to join us at the classes. Obviously they will not be singing for a while yet, but we hope that, by the time they do, they will have a very strong sense of pitch and pulse.
Classes feature a selection of Under the Sea-themed puppets with songs to accompany them. For the toddlers the sessions are very active, involve a lot of tickling and plenty of fun! The following classes take place on Friday mornings at Emmanuel Church:
• 9.30am – 10.10am Toddlers (18 months-3 years) £4.50
• 10.10-10.50am Baby (Birth to 18 months) £4.50
• 10.50am – 11.30am Independent (3-4 years) £4.50
