AURIN CHOIR VISIT
KODALY SCHOOL, KECSKEMET, HUNGARY
We are thrilled to be welcoming our good friends László Durányik and the Aurin Choir back to Barnsley once again. The Aurin Choir come from perhaps the world’s most important and renowned music school in Kecskemet, Hungary, named after the composer and educationalist based in the town, who developed a system for learning music that is now championed throughout the world.
The Aurin Choir represent the highest level of choirs in the world, and have won numerous international competitions throughout the world including the World Choir Games and the Eisteddfod.
Their visit back in 2005 was a catalyst for the forming of Barnsley Youth Choir, and László has supported and mentored
Mat throughout this time, as the BYC organisation has continued to grow. We are thrilled to welcome them back for concerts, rehearsals and workshops.
There will be a concert taking place on Friday 30th June featuring the Aurin Choir on its own at 7.00pm and then concerts on Saturday featuring the Aurin Choir and BYC Choirs, all taking place in Emmanuel Church, Barnsley.
We never underestimate the significance of this partnership on the development of BYC and I know that all BYC members and audience members will be thrilled listening to their exquisite, world class sound.
