the workshops so much fun putting everyone
at ease, even persuading some soloists to step forward to take the mic! It was great to see our young people encouraging complete strangers to embrace the experience. One lady said she had been dragged along by her daughter but was so glad she had as she loved every minute of it!
We took the choir to see the National Youth Choir of Scotland performing the Armed Man which was stunning and was good preparation for our own performance of it later in the year. In contrast the visit to see comedian Mark Watson was fantastic and most of his jokes centred around the yellow t-shirt wearing BYC crew. We also had
the privilege of performing on the official BBC stage following an official invitation.
Taking part in the Fringe provided our young people with so many wonderful experiences. Seeing them promote their show, communicate so confidently with people they had never
met, work so hard as a team, support each other, perform so brilliantly and of course sing so beautifully reminded us about what BYC provides. BYC gives members so much more than singing training; it teaches them skills that will set them up for the future.
