Children’s Choir
As hordes of children poured through the doors of Horizon Community College on our two audition days we all had a sense of great anticipation...and we weren’t disappointed.
Numerous outstanding auditionees were added to the ranks, that almost doubled our numbers! Although this will be the first concert for many it will not be obvious at all; as the standard of choir has improved, so has the calibre of new members and we are delighted to show these new talents off. They join a strong team; we have some members on the cusp of moving on who have been members for three or four years and they epitomise what BYC is all about. Their passion and total commitment for the choir is displayed on a weekly basis. We hope to see them on our International teams in years to come.
The musical team also continues to grow in confidence and we are delighted that Michelle will be making her conducting debut at the Christmas Concerts. Michelle has displayed such commitment to the choir, and is proving to be such an asset,

working wonders with soloists and leading sectionals. Rosie continues to make an outstanding contribution, giving up hours
of her time to help create rehearsal tracks for the children. Fiona continues to bring
to the choir her expertise in performance that she is able to artfully transfer to our soloists. We are very excited to announce that she is expecting the newest member of BYC in March! Unfortunately, due to other commitments, Lauren has had to stand down from her role as musical assistant. We wish her all the best although we do miss her and hope to see her at concerts. She was a wonderfully calming influence and was adored by the children.
We feel very honoured to be able to share the stage with singers from the World Famous Adolf Fredriks School in Sweden this Christmas. We are so lucky to have such opportunities to learn from the very best. We will also witness the debut concert from the newly formed Barnsley Singers and are delighted to be sharing the stage with
them too!
