European Choir Games 2017
Riga, Latvia 16-23 July 2017
We are thrilled to have been invited to represent GB in the European Choir Games next year. Riga is famous for singing and choirs from all over the world will converge on the city to compete. BYC competed in the World Choir Games in Riga in 2014 and were joined by another 400 choirs....27,000 singers!
A year later BYC competed in the European Choir Games in Magdeburg, Germany
and defied the odds by being awarded
3 gold medals and won two Champions Categories. It was also promoted to the Grand Prix event, won and gained the highest mark of the entire competition – 96.5 out of 100.
We need to raise up to £40,000 to make this possible for our members to defend their title. It’s a huge amount but it is possible
to raise this with your support. We have a number of ways that the general public, businesses, charities and other organisations can support.
1) Sponsored Singathon!
Friday 13th January. This will involve 13 hours of non-stop singing through the night!!! Please sponsor those who are taking part!
2) Sponsor a Child.
Individuals, companies
and organisations can
sponsor a child to go to
Riga. The cost of this is £250 and
will enable a child to take part. Names will be fully recognised on our website, via social media and on the t-shirts we will wear in Riga.
3) The Grand Raffle. We will have a raffle with some huge prizes that will be drawn at the Going, Going, Gone! Black Tie Dinner. Any contributions as prizes would be really welcome.

Going, Going, Gone! Friday 19th May.
A special black tie dinner at the Holiday Inn featuring a charity auction by Dan Jarvis MP, a high quality 3 course meal, entertainment from BYC and dancing until late at night. Previous events have been superb. Get in touch if you would like to come!
Crowdfunding. We are going to set up a Crowdfund project for BYC. Rewards for those that contribute include signed copies of our new CD, a limited edition t-shirt that is not for sale and
singing lessons. We will also reward through giving VIP tickets to a special closed
house performance that will replicate the experience
in Riga. We will recreate the intense atmosphere of
competition and it should offer a unique insight. This will be the only time the full Riga
team will perform publicly in this country and tickets won’t
be on general sale.

Our members will be doing everything they can to raise money; from cake sales to sponsored events. This isn’t about hand- outs; they just need some help. Please make it happen for them!
