Sponsor a Child Bursary £250
Barnsley Youth Choir works hard to keep subscriptions low for children, and is able to do this because of the support of sponsors and partners. However, the cost-of-living crisis is presenting lower income families with challenges and some parents are now struggling to meet the
cost of their child being involved. BYC is committed to removing barriers to participation, and offers bursaries to those that are struggling. The number of bursaries needed has increased significantly this last year, placing pressure on the choir and its viability. This support will provide a child who faces significant hardship with a bursary that includes subscriptions for a full year, uniform costs for a full year and the cost of local trips and events. It could mean the difference between the child taking part or not, and your support could be genuinely life-changing for that child.

Sponsor a Child WCG Auckland £500 July 2024
Barnsley Youth Choir is seeking to provide 78 young people from Barnsley with a life-changing experience. The choir has been invited to represent Great Britain in the World Choir Games that will take place in Auckland, New Zealand in July 2024. Our young people are working hard to raise money through their own fundraising efforts, but they do need some help to make this dream a reality. We are looking for your help to Sponsor a Child for £500 as we are determined that no child will miss out on these opportunities because of their financial circumstances. Your contribution could make a huge difference and allow our children to showcase their talents on the world’s most important international stage.
In return for your support, we will publicise your organisation / name on our website and social media to thank you, and invite you to a special evening where you can watch a rehearsal behind the scenes. We will also include your name on the tour t-shirt that all 78 children and 12 adults will wear at the World Choir Games, and recognise your support in the media. In the unlikely event that we fall short of our fundraising target, and the trip is deemed unviable, sponsors will have the option to be reimbursed, or to sponsor 2 children with bursaries for the 2023-24 season.
