 NEW TRUSTEE
We are thrilled to welcome Karen Davis as a trustee of the choir.
She has worked tirelessly over the last 2 years and helped us to respond to the online challenges we faced during lockdown, revolutionising
the way we communicate with members and their families. We also welcome Debbie Hobson to the team as our new volunteer manager,
a really important appointment as we look to provide training and support to our amazing team and ensure that they are really well looked after. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Yvonne Worsley and Rachel Hanson for their wonderful work over so many years.
Both will stay connected with BYC and will continue to support the choir, but are standing down from their official roles. It is difficult to
try and quantify the impact that they have made to the choir and the young people that we serve. It’s almost inconceivable to imagine BYC without them – they have been cornerstones and have worked tirelessly for so many years, with much of this work taking place behind the scenes. On behalf of the countless numbers of children that you have supported, we offer our sincere thanks. BYC would not be where it is today without their energy, drive and passion and we look forward to seeing them regularly as they are still committed to volunteering.
OUR NEWLY APPOINTED TRUSTEE, KAREN DAVIS.
MUSICAL EXPANSION
Our music team continues to evolve and we welcome Zoe Aradipioti to the team, following in the footsteps of Rosie Masters, Gorgey Bennett and Tom Masters who all now have leadership roles helping to run our choirs. It’s a wonderful legacy that these young people now have an opportunity to pass on their skills and experience with younger children, and refine and develop their own skills. Alongside these four, Eleanor, Luke, Sam, Michelle, Fiona, Gareth, Rob, Helen and Emma work incredibly hard and I feel really privileged to work alongside such able and skilled musicians.
The 6 choirs of BYC have now become 7.
We are so pleased to welcome Little Singers
to join BYC officially. We are seeing many
of the 0-4 year olds now graduate into our Junior Choir and it’s so exciting to welcome them to the family. This relationship will be mutually beneficial and help to support Little Singers as it grows rapidly. Numbers have already doubled to 52 and the work that Eleanor is involved in is critical to support very young children who have been starved of interaction and development opportunities
in lockdown. The impact of her work with
Little Singers and the Junior Choir should never be underestimated, and parents are overwhelming in their positive feedback for the quality of provision that those children receive.
