I am very lucky to have a job where my face hurts from smiling. Little Singers does this for me on a weekly basis.
Our numbers are increasing all the time,
but there are still spaces available, particularly on a Thursday afternoon. Do get in touch if you have a child age 0-4. There are a number of children who have graduated from the baby class into the toddler class and we are starting to see signs that they have internalised the songs, now that they are talking.
A parent, whose child is very shy in class, sent a clip of her in her cot at night singing a full range of the Little Singers songs. To see this happening just proves how important it is to start singing as early as possible. Similarly, for babies who can’t yet talk, I give them percussion instruments to play so that they develop a sense of pulse while they are internalising the songs. Obviously the children have no idea about this – they are just having a ball, trying to find hidden sea creatures, being chased by them, playing with bubbles and banging drums! It’s a joy to watch them.
Since Catherine has become Little Singers Manager the whole operation has stepped up a gear – she is an impressive human being! And we are very lucky to have Lynn, a new volunteer on Thursdays who, as far as I can tell, never stops! She is an absolute godsend! Claire continues to volunteer on Friday mornings and again, she
is indispensable. We are creating a lovely Little Singers team. Keep your eyes peeled for a small Little Singers contribution in this concert...
