The Beasts of the East have welcomed a record number of new members this term. Some were a little shy and anxious at first but are definitely ready to perform today!
First impressions are always vital and Lee, Donna and Jean do a great deal to make
sure new recruits and their parents feel very welcome. They along with our mentors are so important in keeping our small yet sturdy team going each week.
Today we are performing two new arrangements and can’t wait to share them with you. We’ve had fun learning the flowing, tricky melodies of Waterloo Sunset and creating our own actions and sound effects for Treehouse. The choir’s sound has developed thanks to the input of Tom and Helen and I’m really happy with the quality that is coming through.
East Choir is now 4 years old. There are currently 5 East graduates in Intermediate Choir and 2 in Senior Choir. It’s really nice to see that, although ours is the smallest Choir of BYC, the young people that come through are sticking with their singing and succeeding in it. It is exciting to think of what the future holds for the current members of BYC Children’s East.
