I absolutely love Thursday nights with the Intermediates. The energy of 80 teenagers in one room is quite an impressive thing to behold but we manage to divert it into some really excellent singing and development week on week.
As the wheel of change turns once more, we have rightfully said goodbye to some of our members as they join Senior Choir. It’s never back to square one for us though! Our choir continues to be flooded by ever-increasingly skilled children’s choir members. We even now have 4 former Junior Choir members in our ranks. A big thank you to Eleanor, Sam, Rosie and others who work so hard with the younger choirs.
There’s a moment of BYC history this weekend. We’ve created a whole new section of our choir
- Cambiata! Cambiata is an Italian word used by choirs worldwide for a section in which a boy’s voice is changing. We already have 7 members and I’m proud of the teamwork and quality they have shown so far. They have a special moment to shine in our new arrangement of Ed Sheeran’s Afterglow this weekend.
This term we have been tackling ‘He Reigns’,
a snappy Kirk Franklin piece that Senior Choir performed back in 2017. There are tricky rhythms but the song is nothing without attitude and performance. The Inters have to be brave and risk singing without inhibition in this one. I hope you enjoy their performance - they won’t let you down tonight!
